Kolkata Police came to the rescue of a nursery student who was found trapped inside a closed school bus. The incident unfolded near a nursery school under the vigilant watch of Vidyasagar Traffic Guard Sergeant Aritra Mukherjee and Palash Halder, who were managing traffic in the vicinity on Thursday.

The sharp observation skills of the two sergeants came into play when they noticed a school bus belonging to Little Teresa Nursery School parked nearby. Their suspicion was piqued when they heard the faint cries of a child emanating from inside the bus. Without wasting a moment, they rushed to investigate and were shocked to find a nursery student, identified as Manushree Roy, trapped inside the vehicle.

Manushree, a resident of Howrah Shibpur, was visibly distressed and in tears. With swift action, the two sergeants immediately began efforts to locate the bus driver, but couldn't find him and broke the door to rescue. Upon finding him, they confronted him about the alarming situation. The bus driver, upon questioning, admitted his negligence, explaining that he had failed to notice the child falling asleep inside the bus.

Undeterred by the rescue, the sergeants proceeded to report the incident to the school authorities. The headmistress was informed, and the matter was thoroughly discussed to prevent such occurrences in the future.
